Private Training

This service is for "short-term", targeted training. This doesn't mean that it won't take a long time to fix or improve a behavior.  On the contrary!  The longer that things haven't been going well, the longer it will take to steer things back into the correct direction.  It is only considered "short-term" because you will only need my help for a short amount of time.  There will be a lot of homework to continue positive progression which will require a lot of time from you.  On a positive note, you will be able to experience that progression first-hand and enjoy a life of increased possibilities together. Does your dog have a problematic behavior that you're having trouble managing?  Maybe you've already completed all your dog training courses but are having trouble with a specific exercise?  Sign up for private training!

Private Training: About

What to Expect

1. Contact Me: The first step is to get in contact.  After contacting me, I will send you a survey to gather more information about the home environment, experience, and behavior you want to work on.

2. Schedule the Appointment: Once the survey is filled out and sent back to me, I will evaluate the information and schedule an appointment for our first consultation.

3. First Visit: During the first visit, we will evaluate the problem together.   We will discuss management methods initially, and then create a plan for future improvement.  This visit can take anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on how many goals you want to set and the difficulty of achieving those goals.  Problematic behaviors often require multiple visits, especially if they have been occurring for a long time.   Once we have decided on achievable goals, I will give an estimate for how many sessions will potentially be required to resolve the problem, and schedule our follow-up appointment.  Depending on what we are working on, the follow-up appointment can be anywhere from 1 week to 1 month later.

4. Homework time: Utilizing the management tips/training plan, you will likely be working multiple times a day in small steps to work toward improvement.  You are welcome to email me progress videos and short questions, but for complex questions or if things aren't progressing well then we will likely need to schedule a follow-up sooner.

5. Follow-up Appointments: Together, we will evaluate the progress made, discuss any hiccups along the path, and lay out the next steps for continued progress.

6. Done: Once your dog is at a point that you are happy with, we can conclude our work together.  You will always be welcome to contact me for a brush up.
